Gods Garden, a Christ centered community garden, established in 2000, has a mission to provide fresh vegetables for the needy + teach people how to sustainably grow vegetables. Our main focus is in the E. Fort Bend Co. neighborhoods providing vegetables to Second Mile + E. Ft. Bend Human Needs Ministry + other food banks. Our goal is to teach people ● the basics of gardening (which includes planning, planting, maintaining and harvesting), ● what grows well in our area, what types of insects are beneficial & which ones are not, ● what to use for gumbo soil, what enhances the soil and thus its productivity, ● water conservation
