Bay Head Yacht Club

Its first clubhouse was built in 1889, and by 1914, it was a founding member of the Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association. The current clubhouse was constructed in 1928 to accommodate a growing membership. Over the years, Bay Head Yacht Club sailors have won numerous championships, including more than 175 in classes such as E Scows and Barnegat Bay A Cats.

The Bay Head Yacht Club offers a variety of activities, including sailing, tennis, and social events. It operates a sailing fleet comprising nearly one hundred boats, ranging from Optimists to classic catboats, supporting the education and empowerment of future sailors. In recent years, the historic clubhouse underwent significant renovations. To address issues caused by storms and rising sea levels, the building was raised and placed on new pilings, with the existing structure restored to its original glory.
