The Mission of The First Baptist Church of Woodlawn is to follow the Church Covenant: Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God (Rom.8:14-15) to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior (John 1:12-13), and on profession of our Faith (Heb. 4:14), having been baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost (Matt. 28:19), we do now in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully (Acts 2:41) enter into covenant with one another (Heb. 8:10-12), as one body in Christ (Col 1:18).We engage,therefore, by the Aid of the Holy Spirit, to work together in Christian love (1 Pet 1:22), to strive for the advancement of this church (Heb 10:25), in knowledge, holiness, and comfort, to promote its prosperity and spirituality (Rom 12:16-11); to substain its worship, ordinances, dicipline and doctrines (II Tim 3:16-17) and (Jude 1:3) to contribute cheerfully and regularly to support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations (Mal 3:8; Matt 23:23; II Cor 8:5-12 and 1 John 3:17)....
