The original area Chambers of Commerce date back to the 1930s. The current Chamber was founded January 1 1989. The communities represented by the Slate Belt Chamber include Portland Bangor Roseto East Bangor Upper and Lower Mount Bethel Washington Township Pen Argyl Wind Gap and Plainfield Township.
