This year's Founders' Day Award was presented to the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation. Accepting the award at Commencement Sunday was CEO and President William Wyman. Wyman's father and grandfather both attended Ripon College. During his acceptance speech, he referred to his grandfather, Earl Wyman, who graduated from the College in 1917. "As a student here, he met a friend named Samuel Pickard," Bill Wyman said. "As students together, they went on to do business together in a local company you just might have heard of: OshKosh B’Gosh. You might recognize that name — after all, you eat in the Pickard Commons every day. "Even a century ago, Ripon College was bringing together young people like you, encouraging them to step into a world of endless possibilities as leaders. Just like Earl Wyman and Samuel Pickard, you’ve been equipped to follow your curiosity wherever it leads." (fb)
