Westford Friends of East Bostoncamps Inc
East Boston Camps is a 300-acre parcel of pristine conservation land in the heart of Westford crisscrossed by miles of walking trails, 30 camp buildings and the 25-acre Burge’s Pond. The property was a fresh air camp for children from East Boston for over 70 years and ceased operation in 2007 after the property was sold to the town of Westford. The Westford Friends of East Boston Camps is a 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to raise funds for the protection of the forest, wildlife and water quality and to continue the tradition of an overnight camp. Our goal is to insure that attendance at the camp would be available at a reasonable cost to underprivileged children.

Home - Westford Friends of East Boston Camps Dear Friends of East Boston Camps It is with much sadness and regret but also a nod to reality that the board of the Westford Friends of East Boston Camps has voted unanimously to disband the organization. As you know the Friends is solely a fundraising nonprofit with no control or responsibility for the camps. Care and custody resides with the Westford Conservation Commission. Over the years it has become increasingly difficult to raise funds paid membership is down community sponsorships are far fewer and smaller than in the past and fundraising events have not been successful enough to merit the efforts required.
