UPDATE on our legislation to Undo Tier 2! We have seen good progress for IEA’s legislation to fix the broken retirement system for teachers, ESPs and higher ed members who are Tier 2. While we are still working out the details with lawmakers, the amended proposal will address these four areas of concern: - Improving the final average salary calculation - Lowering the retirement age - Improving the cost of living adjustment - Increasing the Social Security Wage base to address the so-called “Safe Harbor” problem The proposal is not a done deal. If you want to Undo Tier 2, lawmakers need to hear from you. Write your lawmaker today and tell them to pass the Fair Retirement and Recruitment Act: (fb)
