UHIP is a 501-3 (c) Non Profit Organization aimed to promote healthcare education and health awarene UHIP is founded on the principle that “Knowledge is Power.” We address health disparities in the urban community by improving health literacy among those who suffer disproportionately from chronic disease, disability, and premature death. We achieve this by taking our educational programs to senior housing facilities, houses of worship, and community centers, meeting people where they live and gather. We also partner with faith- and community-based organizations to bring health and wellness workshops and training to their members. We serve the urban communities of northern Essex County including the City of Newark, East Orange, Irvington, Millburn, Orange in the Greater Newark Area.
