Kids Come First

Healthy children are better able to learn, grow, and become productive community members. Kids Come First empowers families to raise healthy children by integrating quality health care, education, and access to resources to prevent and treat illness, promote wellness, and sustain healthy lifestyles.Each of our services is based on helping families and children to understand their health needs and make informed choices to maximize health status. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, Kids Come First depends on community donations to provide the following services:• Primary Health Care: Wellness-focused high quality pediatric care for children ages 0-17 who are uninsured or who qualify for “safety net” insurance programs. • Health Care Access: Assistance, referral, and advocacy to help families secure needed health services and other basic needs (food, transportation, etc.)• Health Education/Health Promotion: Special classes and community activities to help families and children live healthier lives and succeed in school and life.• Community Outreach and Advocacy: Active participation in local, regional, and state-wide collaborative efforts to improve health care delivery systems• Professional and Volunteer Development: Training and experience in a community health setting for current and future professionals, as well as meaningful volunteer opportunities for youth and adults.
