Right now, federal proposals to cut Medicaid funding represent a significant and immediate threat to the patients cared for by Lurie Children’s and the communities we serve. Medicaid supports more than half of all children in Illinois, including many of our most medically complex patients. Cuts to Medicaid funding would limit access to life-saving care, mental health services, and treatment for chronic conditions—especially for children from underserved communities.
