George Washington Julian was a 19th-century congressman, abolitionist, and progressive reformer whose bold commitment to justice made him a true GEM, (Gender Equitable Man). In addition to being a strong abolitionist, Julian recognized that true democracy required full political rights for women. He was one of the first members of Congress to openly support women’s suffrage, introducing legislation to grant women the right to vote and pushing for equal access to public lands and property rights. At a time when women’s voices were systematically excluded from political life, Julian used his own platform to demand their inclusion. He believed that equality across gender, race, and class was essential to a just society. His courage and consistency in standing up for women’s rights, long before it was politically safe to do so, make him a lasting example of allyship in action. Today, his legacy serves as a powerful reminder that gender equity has always required bold voices in every room—especially from those with power and privilege! #beagem #ally (fb)

🔔We’re not facing a masculinity crisis because women are rising📈 We’re facing one because rigid, outdated ideas of manhood are falling apart. As society shifts, many men are left without a roadmap, stuck between harmful expectations and the need for something more honest and human. This isn’t a threat—it’s a call for transformation. When masculinity is defined by dominance, detachment, or control, everyone loses. However, when we redefine it with connection, compassion, and equality, we all win.🏆 The patriarchy hurts everyone. Gender justice liberates us all! (fb)
