What an incredible weekend at FanWing Fest! 🐉✨ This past Saturday, 1,200 passionate readers soared into Montezuma Hall at SDSU for an unforgettable celebration of the beloved Wings of Fire series with author Tui Sutherland and Scholastic! From morning until evening, fans of all ages gathered to dive deep into the world of dragons, friendship, and adventure. The energy was electric as readers connected with Tui, explored interactive activities, and celebrated their love of these amazing stories. 🎬✨ Lights, camera, celebration! ✨🎬 Library Foundation SD proudly celebrates the success of the Workforce Development Initiative (WDI) FY25 Cohort 4! 18 young adults debuted short documentaries at last week's film screening, showcasing the amazing stories and skills these talented filmmakers have developed over the past six weeks. Library Foundation SD is honored to help fund this transformative program hosted by Media Arts Center San Diego in partnership with the San Diego Public Library and the City of San Diego. Together, we're creating pathways for young adults aged 18-29 to launch their creative careers and gain real-world workforce experience. This program combines: 🎬 Industry-standard video production training 🤝 Paid internship opportunities with city departments and community organizations 👩‍💻 Professional development and workforce readiness skills 🎭 Access to state-of-the-art facilities at the Performance Annex at City Heights/Weingart Library The impact extends beyond individual participants.
