Julie Moore is the master mind behind this year's JAM Summit for Traditional Music Education. She is JAM’s Resources and Events Coordinator. Julie is from Glassy Mountain, upstate South Carolina. Starting as a JAM parent, she became the director for Pacolet JAM (Tryon, NC) in 2018. Julie has a passion for studying the overlap in music, culture, & community around the world, which she shared as adjunct for World Music at Furman U., as well as through 15 years’ experience developing & managing educational exchanges with colleagues from Guinea & Mali, West Africa. Julie is certified in Suzuki music education (cello), & draws inspiration from Suzuki’s approach to working with children. Julie will be featured in several panels during the Summit July 9-12. JAM teachers can register now at jamkids.org/summit2025. (fb)

Performing at this year’s JAM benefit concert are JAM alumni and certified instructors, Dannielle Yother and Molly Johnson of the band The Wilder Flower Music. Madeline Dierauf is the third member of this group, playing fiddle and singing strong harmony and lead vocals. They met at the Hagood Mill Fiddlers Convention in 2021, where each took home blue ribbons. This female trio plays original, traditional, and diverse tunes that are guaranteed to have you dancing or moved within. Concert is July 11, 2025 at Emory and Henry University, on the last day of the JAM Summit. Concert tickets can be purchased here: jamkids.org/july11 Email admin@jamkids.org for summit registration link or sponsorship form for this event. We hope to have a great turn out, for a great cause. We still have room for more sponsors!! (fb)

About the organization

Were building community one tune at a time. JAM believes that children who are actively engaged in traditional mountain music are more connected and better prepared to strengthen their communities for future generations. We envision a world in which all children have the opportunity to experience community through the joy of participating in traditional mountain music together. Our mission is to provide communities with the support and tools they need toteach children to play and dance to traditional old time and bluegrass music.
