Overview
The Fredericksburg Area Council on Transition (FACT) is a regional, multi-agency nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities as they transition from secondary education to independent living.
Mission
The mission of FACT is to collaborate with various community agencies and stakeholders to provide resources and guidance for individuals with disabilities and their families. This includes helping them plan for life after high school by identifying desired outcomes and acquiring necessary skills to achieve their goals.

Activities and Resources
FACT offers a wide range of resources and services to support transition planning for individuals with disabilities. These include guidance on post-secondary education, vocational programs, supported employment, self-employment, day support, guardianship, special needs trusts, and various social services. Additionally, FACT provides access to information about Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, and tax-advantaged savings programs for people with disabilities.
Meetings and Engagement
FACT typically meets monthly, now often virtually, to coordinate efforts and facilitate communication among its members and stakeholders. This collaborative approach ensures that individuals with disabilities receive comprehensive support throughout their transition into adulthood.
