Supporting artists dance education and bringing the dance community together THE AMERICAN DANCE GUILD was formed in 1956 and was one of the first dance service organizations in the United States. Originally its goal was to support dance teachers with a yearly conference providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and information and an opportunity to see master teachers demonstrate their work. The Guild grew rapidly. Soon the membership included individuals and organizations from nearly every state in the U.
