During the Great Depression a Northern Kentucky couple Rose and George Steinford witnessed many needy children in their Northern Kentucky community who were not experiencing the joys of Christmas. Rose and George assumed the roles of Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus in their community by purchasing repairing and distributing used toys to these children.
