Jesus Over Everything. “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.” —Colossians 3:15-20 (fb)

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, let’s not rush past the reason behind it. We honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. They laid down their lives so that those who came after them could live in freedom. For every believer, this weekend is a chance to reflect. Life is short. Time is precious. And the call to live with gospel urgency still stands. As you gather with family, rest, or serve, make the best use of the time—pointing others to the hope we have in Christ. “Look carefully then how you walk…making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15–16 (fb)
