Acton-Shapleigh Historical Society collects, preserves & shares history of its towns since 1964. 1. To collect, catalog and preserve local materials and objects, as well as the genealogy of our local families that may help to verify and preserve the history of the towns of Acton and Shapleigh and the immediate vicinity. 2. To share the materials and objects with the public through education programs, demonstrations, publications, interpretations, and exhibits. 3. To promote and assist in the preservation of historic sites, buildings, ancient burial grounds and archaeological heritage in the two towns. 4. To operate as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.
