The single most common factor for children who develop resilience is at least one stable and committed relationship with a supportive parent caregiver or other adult. Center on the Developing Child Harvard University That at its core is what we do at Big Brothers Big Sisters. Our program impacts youth by providing them with a mentor that helps them navigate a broad spectrum of risk behaviors and factors including depression and suicide delinquency substance abuse teen pregnancy and school dropout.
