Himalaya Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing sustainable education and healthcare to underserved rural communities in Nepal by providing academic scholarships to students of Tibetan medicine. Mission Statement:Himalaya Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing traditional Himalayan medical education and healthcare for underprivileged communities in the Trans-Himalayan region of Dolpo, Nepal.Our goal is to improve the quality of life in this remote corner of the world by encouraging independence, equal opportunity and sustainable practices while preserving traditional Buddhist culture.Core Values:-Provide Accessible Healthcare-Provide traditional healthcare to the underprivileged mountain communities in the Himalayas-Offer Well Rounded Education-Preserve, teach and sustain traditional Himalayan Medicine in the Trans-Himalayan region of Dolpo, Nepal-Honor Culture-Preserve and restore Buddhist living culture, artifacts and texts-Foster Independence-Empower people to be self-reliant while promoting environmentally sustainable practices-Promote Equal Opportunity-Ensure equal opportunity for all groups of people regardless of gender, caste, religion, or social standing

Himalaya Project Providing academic scholarships for students of Tibetan medicine Who We Are Himalaya Project is a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 dedicated to providing sustainable education and healthcare to underserved rural communities in Nepal by providing academic scholarships to students of Tibetan medicine. What we do We provide varying levels of scholarship support based on aptitude and need towards students tuition room board books supplies and stipend while they attend the qualified Tibetan medicine institution of their choice. For students whom we provide scholarships towards tuition Himalaya Project also sponsors the students salary at a clinic nearest their home village for a period of 2 years after graduation. Scholarship REcipients KARMA PHUNTSOK MENTSEEKHANG DHARAMSALA INDIA Karma Phuntsok was born in Tsum Valley which is not far from Manaslu one of the worlds highest and most dangerous peaks.
