Today the Gallerie dell’Accademia di Venezia presented the exhibition “Corpi moderni. The Making of the Body in Renaissance Venice. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Dürer, Giorgione” which opens tomorrow April 4 and runs until July 27, 2025. Save Venice provided support for the exhibition together with other committees from the Association of International Private Committees for the Safeguarding of Venice. Curated by Guido Beltramini, Francesca Borgo, and Giulio Manieri Elia, the exhibition offers a fascinating investigation into the conception of the human body that emerged in Renaissance Venice in the worlds of art, science and material culture. It features 89 extraordinary works including drawings, paintings and sculptures. Masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci – including the world-famous Vitruvian Man displayed for the first time in six years – Michelangelo, and Albrecht Dürer, as well as Giovanni Bellini and Giorgione are shown alongside scientific instruments, anatomical models, books, garments, miniatures, and everyday objects.
