The Daisy Wilson Artist Community is a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to promote the literar The mission of the Daisy Wilson Artist Community, Inc./August Wilson House is to promote the literary and social legacy of August Wilson through the restoration of his boyhood home on Bedford Avenue in Pittsburgh's Hill District neighborhood. The organization's purpose is to foster and promote greater appreciation for and understanding of African-American literature, the performing arts and the literary and social legacy of August Wilson by exploring the cultural narrative of August Wilson’s writings through seminars, readings, exhibits and performances.

To do this it needs more than the welcome contributions of theater stars and Pittsburgh foundations. To make this a real community arts center we need all who honor August Wilson and his Hill to join in.
