The Mesa Miners joined us today at the Mesa Historical Museum for the unveiling of the Capstone Copper Trophy, which they won in a thrilling ten-inning game against the Globe Bears at the inaugural Arizona Vintage Base Ball League Championship in April. The Mesa Miners are part of the Arizona Vintage Base Ball League, a group dedicated to playing 19th-century-style baseball using historic rules, uniforms, and equipment. The trophy is now on display at the museum before it travels back to Globe for next year’s contest. Stop by to take a look! (fb)
