On January 19, 2000, tragedy struck Seton Hall University when a devastating dormitory fire claimed the lives of three students: Aaron Karol, Frank Caltabilota, and John Giunta. In addition, 60 students and firefighters were injured. This fire remains one of the deadliest college fires in U.S. history. As we mark the 25th anniversary of the Boland Hall fire, we also celebrate the 15th anniversary of our Foundation. It is crucial that we continue to honor the memory of Aaron, Frank, and John while supporting the courageous first responders who serve our communities. In commemoration of this significant milestone, we are proud to announce that, as part of our anniversary celebrations, the Foundation will grant a total of $25,000 this year. Over the next five months, we will award five $5,000 grants to support vital causes. We are especially honored to kick off this initiative by awarding our first $5,000 grant to the Aaron Karol Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship, established by Aaron’s family at his high school, has supported students for over 20 years, helping to keep his memory alive and inspiring future generations. We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our community over the past 15 years. Thanks to you, we have been able to make a tangible, lasting impact, and we look forward to continuing our work together. Thank you for your commitment, compassion, and support! (fb)
