The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, and its amendments, and applicable sections of the New York Not-For-Profit Corporation Law, Sec. 402.

When we began as a coalition of local businesses committed to preserving a strong communitycontrolled economy in 2006 phrases like buy local and localism were not trendy or politically popular.
