The Jimmy McDaniels Foundation honors the legacy of the late James "Jimmy" McDaniels, music great and inductee of both the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame and Indy Jazz Foundation Hall of Fame. Join our movement to save the music in higher education. The mission of The Jimmy McDaniels Foundation is to encourage minority instrumental musicians who reside in Indianapolis, Indiana and Birmingham, Alabama and to provide educational grants that will inspire recipients to enrich their communities and music profession. The foundation's first step was to establish a scholarship at Butler University in Indianapolis,Indiana. This scholarship will benefit instrumental students studying in the School of Music in the Jordan College of Fine Arts. A similar effort is underway at Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama for students enrolled in The Miles College Music Program.
