Friends of Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge Friends of Port Louisa National WildlifeRefuge Located along the Mississippi River in southeast Iowa Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge provides more than 6700 acres of habitat for migratory birds. As a major stop on the Mississippi Flyway the Refuge is a haven for waterfowl but is also home to bald eagles warblers woodpeckers shore birds turtles snakes and butterflies. It is also a place for people to enjoy wildlife watching photography nature study hiking paddling fishing and more. As a national wildlife refuge Friends group we are here to support the mission of the Refuge and to promote the area to people like you.
