United Neighborhood Houses (UNH) is a policy and social change organization representing 43 neighborhood settlement houses that serve 765,000 New Yorkers from all walks of life. United Neighborhood Houses of New York (UNH) is a policy and social change organization with a mission to promote and strengthen settlement houses’ neighborhood-based, multi-service approach to improving the lives of low- and moderate-income New Yorkers and the communities in which they live. Today, UNH represents 45 New York neighborhood settlement houses that together reach over 765,000 New Yorkers of all ages and from all walks of life. This mission is achieved through: 1) advocacy for policies, funding, and practices addressing a broad range of issues; 2) customized professional development and peer learning opportunities for our network’s staff; 3) promotion of innovative and best practices; and 4) mobilization of UNH members in civic and community engagement.
