The US has 5 times more cardiac surgeries, per capita, then other industrialized nations. The reason is the large gray area between clear need for medication and clear need for surgeries, thus motivating surgeons to do surgeries, even when not needed, thus making excess money, at the expense of patients and the US tax payers.
