Founded in 1934 this organization aims to improve the quality of life through health fitness and recreational activities. LAHPERD is an affiliate of SHAPE America Society of Health and Physical Educators The members of LAHPERD consist of teachers administrators dance instructors recreation supervisors fitness directors college students allied health specialists exercise physiologists athletic trainers etc. Members are included in all sixtyfour parishes and all universities in the state.
