Kidney cancer can affect anyone at any age. In honor of Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Awareness Week, and in partnership with Stupid Cancer, we've gathered stories of young individuals impacted by #kidneycancer. www.kidneycancer.org/adolescent-young-adult-cancer-week-2025/— AYA cancer is often diagnosed late because symptoms get dismissed or overlooked. That delay can mean tougher treatments, worse side effects, and a harder road ahead. And even after diagnosis, AYAs report lower satisfaction with care, more financial stress, and greater struggles with side effects than older adults. It’s time to: ✅ Increase awareness that cancer does happen to young people. ✅ Address the unique AYA challenges—finances, pain management, and long-term impact. ✅ Have real conversations about quality of life, not just survival. #AYACancer #AYACancerAwareness #PatientAdvocacy #AYAAware #youngadultcancer #ayasupport #cancer #survivorship #survivor #survivorstories (fb)

🧡 💚 Thanks to the IKCC for having us at #IKCC25 in Madrid! It's so important to maintain connections with fellow #kidneycancer advocacy groups from around the world who are working together in pursuit of a common goal - improving lives for patients and families. Especially grateful to catch up in person with our Affiliate Partners the Judy Nicholson Foundation and the Wilms Cancer Foundation! Special thanks to outgoing IKCC Board Chair Dr. Michael Jewett for all his efforts to foster collaboration and progress. This year's theme of "Building Evidence-Based Advocacy Skills" is particularly relevant as it's more important than ever for us to elevate the patient voice and advocate for much-needed policy changes. We can't wait to celebrate #WorldKidneyCancerDay on 19 June and later in the year to showcase results from the Global Patient Survey! We look forward to continuing to be #UnstoppableTogether! #kidneycancer #cancersupport #canceradvocacy (fb)
