New York Baroque Dance Co., Inc.
We are the world's leading professional historical dance company, being one of only about 10 internationally. We aim to bring historical dance literacy to the general public and to the field of dance through performance, lectures and workshops. Our innovative projects include bringing published 18th century ballets into the repertoire of standard dance companies and university dance groups; creating educational lecture/performances based on battles and balls from the Revolutionary Era and The French and Indian War and creating videos of our productions to be housed in public libraries. We are interested in involving both professional performing artists and the interested amateur in our work. Our aim is to promote the best there is in historical dance performance and to reach the general public by directly involving them as participants as well as audience members.
