Wilkinsburg Community Ministry
WCM is a community non-profit that works to address food insecurity in our community. Our food pantry is open a Monday, Wednesday-Friday from 9am-1pm, and Tuesday 3-7pm. A household can come up to 2 times a week to get food for the family. The Wilkinsburg Community Ministry works to address food insecurity in Wilkinsburg and surrounding neighborhoods. Approximately 3000 families a month, providing a choice of food to cook at home, household supplies, hygiene supplies and other related items. In general, we distribute over 600,000 pounds of food a year.

Wilkinsburg Community Ministry – We Share Food Wilkinsburg Community Ministry Wilkinsburg Community Ministry We Share Food with residents of Wilkinsburg and adjacent neighborhoods of East Homewood East Liberty Park Place Regent Square Swissvale Braddock Edgewood Forest Hills and areas of Penn Hills. We offer our neighbors a diversified and we hope sustainable source of fresh food in addition to a variety of processed foods provided by the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Community food banks and their network of pantries are designed around an emergency model to provide food in such oneoff circumstances as natural disasters hurricane flood military disasters 911 and economicmedical disasters pandemic. Initially these were considered shortterm challenges not the longterm crises that they have become and certainly not the lifelong crises that our neighbors in Wilkinsburg Homewood Edgewood and Swissvale face due to the income disparity endemic in our region.
