Thanks to the Great Elephant Migration, a herd of life-sized, hand-crafted elephant sculptures (including one based on the likeness of Madhubala) has made their way across the country, bringing with them a story of hope: about the possibility of a peaceful coexistence between humans and animals. Unfortunately, not all elephants are granted the same opportunities to roam as they would in the wild: they are captured and thrown into zoos where they are displayed like inanimate objects or hunted down for their ivory tusks or forced to submit to humans as circus performers or riding animals. But, we can make a difference.
