It's World Bicycle Day! That means it's the perfect time to mention that #PennYan Public Library's annual summer learning kickoff event, Books & Bikes Fest, will be held on Saturday, June 28, right here at the library. The parking lot will be closed to vehicles, and we invite kids to bring their bikes, trikes, and scooters to enjoy riding freely. And speaking of freely, everything is free: from the books we give away to youth who sign up for our summer reading program to the bike helmets we give away to anyone who needs one! The Penn Yan Police Department will be there making sure the helmets fit properly, the Yates Community Center #makingyatesyou will be there making healthy smoothies, and there will be raffles to enter to win, among other things, a family pass to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse! There will also be free bike decorations, free face painting, free hula-hooping lessons, and so much more fun!
