My Facebook memories reminded me that six years ago, in 2019, I was so excited that we'd placed 11 CuddleCots so far THAT YEAR, and it was only May. I referenced that we'd placed 12 CuddleCots in all of 2018, so we were well on our way to big things. In this month alone, May 2025, we have sent out 12 CuddleCots, with more to come today. (The day is just getting started! 💪) I marvel at "how it started" vs. "how it's going" and am grateful for the families that entrust us with their baby's legacy. On August 29, 2023, Alexandra was almost 38 weeks pregnant. She and her husband Jason headed to the hospital expecting their child. Instead, excitement turned to shock when multiple providers confirmed their son no longer had a heartbeat. "The time since Sebastian's passing has been incredibly difficult, as we can't help but think about every future milestone and experience we have and will miss: watching our son crawl and take his first steps, digging into his smash cake at his first birthday party, back-to-school photos, his first road trip and international flight and sporting events," Alexandra said. While the couple continues to wrap their minds around what happened and what will never be, they are grateful for the compassionate care they received from the team at the hospital, where there was a CuddleCot available. It allowed the couple to spend almost 38 hours with Sebastian to build the few memories they have with him. To honor his birthday last year, the couple and their family and friends raised enough money to fund TWO CuddleCots - one to be placed at Medical City Plano, and the other at Texas Health Arlington - PLUS spare parts that were needed for another. ❤️ (fb)
