We promote and ensure #literacy by supplying research-based reading resources and interventions to pre-service teachers, struggling readers, and their families. • Research Literacy: Offer research opportunities for experts to study literacy topics that will help advance the field • Instruct Struggling Readers: Provide instruction to struggling readers, nonreaders, and English language learners that focuses on individual needs, and draws from scientifically based research• Our passion is to raise the literacy level of these people• Support Parents: Share valuable knowledge with parents and others that will strengthen their efforts with struggling readers • Empower Teachers and Tutors: Provide tools, materials and knowledge to help them in their quest to teach reading and comprehension skills to their students.

RISE Institute for Literacy has three primary goals Instruct Students Provide struggling readers with explicit systematic instruction to improve reading skills through the RISE Tutoring Center Empower PreService Teachers Provide free science of reading resources to university teacher preparation programs for the purpose of educating preservice teachers. Support Families Provide information resources and support to parents of struggling readers and children with reading disabilities including dyslexia.
