NHS OF THE FOX VALLEY, THROUGH ITS AFFILIATION WITH ITS PARENT ORGANIZATION, NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES OF CHICAGO (NHS), STRENGTHENS NEIGHBORHOODS AND PROVIDES HIGH-QUALITY, AFFORDABLE HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOW- AND MODERATE-INCOME FAMILIES THROUGHOUT NORTHERN KANE COUNTY BY: (A) PROVIDING AND SPONSORING COMMUNITY-WIDE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOCUSING ON THE FUNDAMENTALS OF HOMEOWNERSHIP; PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO POTENTIAL AND EXISTING LOW- AND MODERATE-INCOME HOMEBUYERS AND HOMEOWNERS IN OBTAINING AFFORDABLE FINANCING; OFFERING SERVICES AFTER THE PURCHASE TO HELP FAMILIES FIX AND KEEP THEIR HOMES, AND (B) PROMOTING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BY RENEWING PRIDE, RESTORING CONFIDENCE AND STIMULATING REINVESTMENT IN AND REVITALIZATION OF DISTRESSED NEIGHBORHOODS.
