** POOP WARNING*** Did you know that North American River Otters do a very cute “poopy dance” whenever they need to do their business? While we aren’t completely sure why they do this, it’s part of their way of communicating. It’s their “social media” if you will - ottergram! It tells all the other otters what’s going on, who’s around, if they’re seeking a love match… all the things! I think Margie was clearly leaving little love notes for Bob in this video! (Might just be wishful thinking on my part 😉) We have also seen our Asian Small Clawed Otters do this same behavior. But not all otter species do it.
