Dr. Ellen J. Kennedy, board member of LWV-Edina and executive director of World Without Genocide, recently attended the United Nations 69th Commission on the Status of Women, a gathering of 9,000 people from around the world to address women’s economic and social equality, representation, freedom from violence, and bodily autonomy. She will speak about the link between today’s increasing de-democratization in Europe and the US and the rise in misogyny, sexual violence, women’s electoral disenfranchisement, and growing gender inequality.
