Live Your Freedoms Love Your Freedoms Learn more First Amendment Museum is to inspire Americans to understand and live their First Amendment freedoms. Our five First Amendment Freedoms freedom of speech freedom of religion freedom of the press the right to peaceably assemble and the right to petition our government are the cornerstone of our democracy. When Americans understand and value these freedoms and incorporate them into their daily lives democracy thrives and all may reap its benefits. The First Amendment Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
