SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Wynn Engel Section/Instrument Flute What is your proudest accomplishment in high school? I have progressed substantially since my freshman year musically, academically, and as a person. I am so proud of the friends I have made that have been like family to me. I am proud of myself for getting out of my own way and striving for progression above all else in all regards of my life. I have become a more communicative and well rounded person and I so proud of how far I have come from not talking to anyone to being a student leader, I am so happy to have found my place in the Rouse Band. What are you most excited about for the future? I am excited to keep learning and continuing to progress. I hope to impact the people and programs in my life for the better and always hold onto the morals that I have learned in this program. I am both excited and petrified for what’s to come but I know I can rely on the things I learned from this program that have prepared me for the “real world”. I am excited for an opportunity to get better and help better the things around me. (fb)

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Victoria Covarrubias Section/Instrument Visual Ensemble What is your proudest accomplishment in high school? My proudest accomplishment in high school was being able to build up the courage to join Color Guard as a junior. What are you most excited about for the future? I’m excited to make new memories in a new environment. What is your advice for incoming freshmen? My advice for the incoming freshmen is to not be scared to join programs you are interested in. Being a part of something bigger than yourself allows for very rewarding experiences that expedite personal growth and overall enjoyment of daily life. What has been your favorite Rouse Band memory? My favorite Rouse Band memory was probably our BOA San Antonio performances of Requiem. I have never performed in such a large stadium, and it felt surreal knowing that I was a part of the group on the field, not a spectator in the stands anymore. If you could be any animal for one day, which one would you choose and why? I would want to be a sea otter because it would be fun to eat and float around all day. (fb)
