Council of New York Cooperatives and Condominiums Posted February 28 2025 CORPORATE TRANSPARENCY ACT COMPLIANCE SUSPENDED AGAIN FinCEN TO ISSUE NEW RULES BY MARCH 21st Last night the US Treasury Departments Financial Crimes Enforcement Network FinCEN issued an update stating that it will not issue fines or penalties for failing to comply with the Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting Deadline which was March 21st until new rules are issued. FinCEN expects to issue the new rules prior to March 21st and have a public comment period before finalizing the new rules and a new BOI filing deadline. CNYC will continue to make every effort to have housing cooperatives condominiums and home owner associations exempted from the filing requirement.
