What: Federal Civics 101 When: Wednesday, June 4, 6:30–8:00 p.m. Where: Olympia Timberland Library Why: Ever wonder how you, in Washington state, can become more civically active and engaged in DC? Your voice matters and you have a right to be heard! Join us to learn how to engage, debate, discuss, and fight for what you believe in at the national level. In this interactive workshop, we'll explore three big topics: - Values embedded in U.S. founding documents (e.g., Declaration of Independence) - The “separation of powers” between the three branches of government; and - Constitutional provisions around citizenship and voting rights. Every participant will receive a “pocket Constitution” and have an opportunity to discuss their relationship with the federal government.
