World Farmers mission is to support small farmers in sustainable agricultural production and successful marketing practices, and to connect culturally relevant produce to viable markets. World Farmers provides mentoring, training, and hands-on assistance when working with each farmer to build the capacity needed to operate individual farming enterprises, and cultivates a climate of farmer-to-farmer mentorship. We enact our mission through various initiatives, the most prominent of which is the Flats Mentor Farm program which currently supports farmers from 30 countries of origin. Since 1984, our Flats Mentor Farm Program has been a place where immigrants and refugees from agrarian backgrounds find the opportunity to evaluate the sustainability of farming as a way of life in the States.
