Families Empowered

The mission of Families Empowered (FE) is to empower families to engage in a marketplace of schools. Our vision is that one day, all families will have the ability to choose a high quality school, so that all students achieve their full potential. Families Empowered achieves its mission by informing families about educational options in their geographical area, and connecting them to those options. We believe that when parents are EMPOWERED with accurate, actionable, and accessible information about their educational options, they are able to engage and participate in a system of schools that improves outcomes for kids. Whereas most school choice organizations (such as school operators and choice advocacy organizations) work to impact the education market on the supply side, Families Empowered is focused on the demand side – connecting families with schools and equipping them to be more sophisticated players in the school choice market. The more informed families are about their options, the more likely they are to find a “right fit” school for their children - and the more school choice as a whole will flourish.
