An active cemetery, serving over 1,600 families annually. A Dayton landmark since 1841. The Woodland Arboretum Foundation was established for the purpose of raising and receiving and/or maintaining resources and to use these resources to develop, preserve, protect, and promote the treasures, the historical records, the historic buildings, the art, and the heritage of Woodland Historic Cemetery and to improve its relationship with the people and organizations of the Dayton region for generations to come. This mission coincides with the cemetery's mission of ... commemorating the dead entrusted to our service with care, dignity and understanding; comforting the bereaved in a tranquil, beautiful, natural landscape; preserving the heritage and wonder of Woodland and history of Dayton in perpetuity.

Many of the trees are more than a century old ten of which have been designated Ohio Champions by the Ohio Forestry Association. Woodland is pleased to announce our upcoming concert series this fall with Viva La Strings. Each concert will consist of a string quartet and we will be exploring the best of classical music throughout the series. There will be two concerts in September and one in October.
