Groups underrepresented in STEM fields include African Americans, Hispanics and Latinos, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, the economically disadvantaged, people with disabilities, and women and girls. The strategic objective is to promote and improve equitable access and educational opportunities for children. 21stCentury STEM Foundation's work will provide insight to educators, employers and policy makers on the needs and challenges of key groups of children with a variety of skills and educational attainment
