The Cochise County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue (COCHISESAR) Posse was founded in 1981. By Manny Gomez (SAR-01) to provide for the search, rescue, evacuation, recovery, of victims in distress in Cochise County and surrounding areas. The Cochise County SAR Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit support organization for the Cochise County Search and Rescue Team. The Foundation serves the team by providing them with the funding necessary for training and tools. They do this through public donations, all donations go directly into the acquisition of the equipment and training. None of the public donations go into funding the Search and Rescue member’s time.
