Some teachers leave a mark that lasts a lifetime. 💛 For Lenna Assaf, our Program Support Lead, it was Mrs. Cunningham—her second and third grade teacher with a holiday-themed sweater vest for every occasion and a heart full of encouragement. Mrs. Cunningham made learning feel like magic, especially in language arts. One year, she submitted a story Lenna wrote to a group called the Imagination Machine, and they turned it into a live performance at school. Another time, she cast Lenna as the lead in the holiday play, “Elfis”—giving her the confidence to step into the spotlight and share her voice. Mrs. Cunningham believed in Lenna before she believed in herself. And years later, she still thinks about her often.
